I’m looking for a way to manually shut down Direct Access and stop it from needing to connect, I’m using a school device and it has had ongoing issues with it that are keeping me offline while I’m at home, and I want to bypass it entirely. I am not opposed to using an separate program to stop it.

The settings are partially locked down, so I can’t disable it that way. I don’t want to stop it connecting, I need something that prevents it from needing to connect.

A proxy that routes all online activity through it would work presuming it isn’t blocked, Tor Browser is letting access web pages and is completely unhindered, but everything else can’t connect without the direct access connecting first, and it won’t. As is said the settings are all locked for it and I can’t change them at all. Contacting an admin or school tech support is out of the question right now as well, or I would. This thread is locked.
